Ministry of the Environment of Japan (MOEJ) and the Global Environment Centre Foundation (GEC) in collaboration with Government of Chile and Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. will jointly organize “Webinar on the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) Implementation in Chile – Accelerating the Transition towards Decarbonization through JCM –” on Friday, October 28th, 2022.
JCM stands for the Joint Crediting Mechanism, a scheme for diffusion of decarbonizing technology and contribution to the sustainable development of a partner country as well as evaluation of contribution from Japan to GHG emission reductions in the partner country including Chile for the both countries to meet their NDCs. Japan has signed with the twenty thee partner countries including Chile, Mexico, and Costa Rica to implement JCM.
Already eleven projects in Chile have been awarded for financial supports, while during fiscal 2022 alone three projects have been awarded: more info click here.
