The Inter-American Development Bank, through its Integration and Trade Sector and ConnectAmericas, is pleased to present the Outsource2LAC Virtual Week 2020 (O2LAC Virtual 2020), which will take place July 13-22, 2020.

Building on the success of its past seven editions, and in light of the current state of the world, we are pivoting our in-person summit to an online, 8-day experience with a compelling and dynamic agenda that will include one-on-one business matchmaking opportunities for global digital service companies, as well as online sessions featuring renowned experts in global digital services from Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and beyond.

Why now?

The economic slowdown predicted to follow the COVID-19 crisis will adversely affect global businesses. Nonetheless, digital companies are exceptional in their ability to take advantage of the opportunities that emerge. Any suppliers of digital services will experience unexpected growth. Many business firms are accelerating their digital transformation. All support companies, and especially SMEs from the Latin American and the Caribbean (LAC) region, have been impacted, from having to transition to telework, to pivoting to an e-commerce channel, to considering cloud-based contact centers. In the long run, as a result of this crisis, we expect the digital services to be an integral and permanent component of global trade. 

The event

In this context, the O2LAC Virtual Week 2020 will provide a space where LAC’s global services companies can a) explore new business opportunities through B2B and B2G virtual matchmaking meetings, and b) learn from industry experts about the latest developments and challenges amid the coronavirus pandemic. O2LAC Virtual 2020 will consist in a virtual 8-day event that will cover over 16 key topics that will be explored in panel discussions, future flash presentations and breakout sessions.

Over the years, Outsource2LAC has established itself as the main Outsourcing and Offshoring forum in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), which offers its participants the opportunity to learn about the latest trends in the global services sector and expand their businesses around the world. For this edition, entrepreneurs in the services sector will interact with entrepreneurs from LAC and the rest of the world representing all sectors (Food and Beverages, Education,  Public Agencies etc.), and also with representatives from the Trade and Investment Promotion Agencies from Latin America and the Caribbean. 

If you are a registered ConnectAmericas.com user, you may be eligible for the following benefits*:

*Subject to approval by the Selection Committee established by the IDB:

  • Free access to webinars.
  • Free registration to the Virtual Business Meetings.

Companies eligible for these benefits will be selected by BID/ConnectAmericas, based on the following criteria:

  1. Be registered with ConnectAmericas and have a FULL and verified company profile (or in the process of verification)
  2. Belong to the global export services sector (e.g. BPO, KPO, ITO, LPO, among others; including direct providers of these services, subcontractors, specialized consulting firms, specialized legal firms and other firms directly linked to the sector).
  3. Require one of the services mentioned in the previous point (2).
  4. Have relevant International Experience in your field of application.
  5. Have specialized quality certifications.
  6. Have a functional website.
  7. The companies that offer their products or services should belong to one of the borrowing member countries of the IDB (see list here)

How to apply for this benefit? Just follow these simple steps:

Make sure you have a User Profile (personal) and that your Company profile is complete on ConnectAmericas.

Submit via the registration app (application will close on July 3, 2020 at 09:00 am EST). Remember that space is limited. In addition, companies that register earlier will have more time to prepare and choose their business meetings with the desired participating counterparts. Sign up and be one of the first companies to participate!

When and how do I find out if I was selected to receive the benefits?

In the weeks following your registration, you will receive an email with the status of your application ("Approved or Declined"), depending on the decision made by the Selection Committee (based on the information provided in your registration profile).

If your company is "Approved", the organizers will contact you to indicate next steps in order to participate in the event.
