LAC Flavors is one of the key Food and Beverages business forums in the region, connecting hundreds of Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) exporters with buyers/importers from around the world.

This initiative aims to expand and strengthen commercial exchange in the region, contributing to the generation of new business opportunities between SMEs in the food sector and international buyers, through business meetings ("matchmaking").  Over the past 10 years, LAC Flavors generated more than $ 990 million USD in future transactions following more than 17,000 business meetings held during these events.

This edition of LAC Flavors is organized by the Inter-American Development Bank, through ConnectAmericas, in collaboration with ProColombia, the Colombian government's export promotion agency, Colombia Productiva, Agro Exporta, the Government of Valle del Cauca, the Municipality of Santiago de Cali, and the Cali Chamber of Commerce.

Tentative Agenda.

The organizers will offer the following incentives to the first 100 companies that do not have a residence in Colombia, that register and comply with the eligibility requirements:

 

  1. Travel incentives, It will depend on the place of residence of the participant and will be determined on a case-by-case basis.

  2. Registration payment. ConnectAmericas will cover the cost of registering the event for an amount of 500,000 Colombian pesos.

  3. Space in the stand of your country located in the exhibition floor, to exhibit samples of your most representative products (The mechanics and details of the space will be communicated via email to the selected companies).

  4. Free access to the workshops that will be given on September 4

  5. Participation in networking and integration activities included in the LAC FLAVORS 2019 program.

  6. Local transfers: Hotel - Venue of the event - Hotel and Venue of the event - Networking activities - Hotel. Important note: The transfer service to and from the airport will not be provided. Each participant will be responsible for their transfers to and from this point.

 

The companies eligible to access these benefits will be selected by ConnectAmericas based on the following criteria:

 

  • Belonging to one of the IDB borrowing countries (see list here)

  • Be a producer and / or marketing company of Food and Beverages.

  • Be registered in ConnectAmericas and have a COMPLETE and verified company profile (or in the process of verification).

  • Have exporting experience or have an export plan to start exporting.

 

  • Have certifications that guarantee the quality, innocuousness, traceability and veracity of the labeling terms that add value to their products (Examples: FDA, HACCP, GSFI, Global GAP, ISO, Good Manufacturing Practices -BPM, Organic, Gluten Free , Fair Trade, among others).

  • Being a small or medium-sized company (SME): To determine its size, the annual billing and / or number of employees will be used as a measurement parameter.

  • Have a Web Page functional.

  • It is highly recommended that the person attending on behalf of the company speak English.

 

We will give priority to companies that never received IDB benefits to participate in other events.
