About me
From a young age Giorgiana began oil painting, as well as creating sculptures from wooden logs she found at the local beaches with her father. Her subject matter and use of materials captured the lives of the local communities. After school, the great admiration for her grandfather, furniture designer, led Giorgiana to study in 1999 industrial design at RISD University where she formed her academic bases graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Upon returning to Costa Rica, she got involved in the national art scene working at the Ministry of Culture supporting the cultural industries. One of the projects she enjoyed the most was with the students of a local design university and the community of Sarchí focusing on the social design. Her desire to continue to grow professionally lead her in 2013 to obtaining an MBA from Babson University. This allowed her to obtain new entrepreneurship skills. Today, she continues to devote herself to working with the local community of Sarchí by combining her modern designs with the excellent craftsmanship of the Sarchi artisans
