About me
My professional background focuses on sound engineering, mainly covering the electroacoustic sound design area. Through the design, installation and optimization of multichannel audio systems and real time signal processing, I look to generate soundscapes and control acoustic spaces. As a result of my interest, I developed an audio system, after working for a National Geographic Society project called "Canopy in the Clouds", which artificially recreated the Hi-Fi soundscape of an environmentally protected cloud forest called Monteverde, in my home country of Costa Rica. I recorded and produced the sound database of the protected area, with the final goal of measuring the different climatic values (such as temperature, light, etc.) through Arduino. With these variables as inputs, I used the software to control the reproduction of a sound database of Monteverde. It was during this professional development that my interest in promoting sound conservation was born. By focusing my work on protected areas in Latin America, I hope to raise awareness of the importance of protecting our environment from noise pollution.
