About me

I have always wanted to become a Physical Therapist. Why Physical Therapy? It’s one of those professions that allow you the freedom of creativity, it challenges the mind and it’s always evolving. I completed my BSc. Physical Therapy in 2009, which was followed by a 1 year internship at Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex. I spent a further 2 years at the Physical Therapy Department there; where I gained invaluable experience and knowledge, as I was exposed to clinical cases that allowed me to apply my knowledge and challenged me to think “Outside the Box”. I was given the opportunity to work on the Medical, Surgical, Intensive Care Unit and Paediatric wards, the Out-Patient Department and also with Post-Operative Renal patients, and with Post-Operative Cardiac patients. I have also had the opportunity to work alongside r several Senior Physical Therapists at their private clinics. My time at the hospital brought to the forefront that most of the cases we attended to had a major underlying problem – Lifestyle Diseases i.e Diabetes, High Cholesterol, Hypertension. More frequently seen also were Obesity, Osteoarthritis and/or Osteoporosis and Back Pain. As much as I enjoyed working at the hospital, I had a bigger vision, thus the creation and startup of Body Dynamics Wellness Centre Limited. The centre serves as an institution geared towards generating public health awareness and creating change. Knowledge is power, the more you know about your condition, the better you can manage your health. Our purpose is to give persons living with these conditions a greater chance at Living a Better Life and assisting others in preventing early onset. At Body Dynamics, we also focus on NeuroRehabilitaion (paediatric and adult), educating patients and their families on how to manage their condition and maximize function. Our role is to create an environment that allows persons with these conditions to achieve greater functional outcomes, thus improving their quality of life.
