The Barbados Investment and Development Corporation (BIDC) was founded with a mission be a catalyst for innovative and productive endeavors supporting Barbadian companies from new enterprise status to international competitiveness. BIDC offers a variety of business solutions designed to assist Barbadian entrepreneurs.

Fiscal Incentives: The BIDC offers an array of fiscal incentives designed to support manufacturing entrepreneurship. Manufacturing companies located and or incorporated in Barbados may qualify for incentives if they meet the qualifying criteria.

Factory Space: The BIDC has approximately 1.6 million sq. ft. of space distributed over thirteen estates. Each location is specifically zoned to accommodate particular industries. Units in the small business incubator facility are 380 sq. ft. in size. Companies interested in leasing factory space should submit a Factory Space Request Form to the BIDC.

Special Programs for exporters: BIDC possesses a team of Specialist Business Development Officers available to assist both potential and experienced exporters. Also, BIDC offers aggressive market development program which uses in-country market representatives to help introduce Barbadian products in new export markets. 

• Certification Service: The Export Development and Promotion Division of the BIDC is the Certification Authority for all Trade Agreements with the exception of ACP-EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), the Barbados Customs undertakes the certification role under this agreement. 
• Trade Show Calendar: BIDC's Export Development and Promotion Division organizes a number of trade missions to selected target markets each year. All Barbadian companies demonstrating the potential to penetrate or increase sales in those target markets are invited to participate.
• Trade Information for Exporters: BIDC's Research Officers have produced a number of useful Market Studies and Market Research reports. Copies may be purchased, or accessed in the BIDC Library. BIDC market studies and reports have been prepared for the following countries: Argentina, Costa Rica, USA (Miami), Bahamas, Cuba, Suriname, Brazil, Dominican Republic, U.S. Virgin Islands, Colombia, Halifax (Nova Scotia), and Venezuela.
