The stakeholders are groups or people involved in the project. In development projects, stakeholder management is of the utmost importance for the success of the project. The process of identifying stakeholders and defining their levels of interest and influence on the project is the starting point for developing strategies for obtaining the necessary support from key actors involved in order to achieve the goals of the project. Depending on the type of project, the stakeholders may vary in number as well as in influence and interest. By classifying the stakeholders, the project manager is in a better position to use time more efficiently in the development of project relations and communications with the most important stakeholders.
