Prior to business school, for more than five years Joaquin managed a wide range of Engineering and Construction projects in several industries, serving as project manager at CSI Ingenieros. Also, Joaquin worked as a Construction Manager for CIEMSA at the Botnia paper mill project – one of the biggest foreign investments in Uruguayan history (1 BUsd). At Haas business school, Joaquin served as VP of admissions at the Latin American and Hispanic Business Association. During 2010, Joaquin worked as a consultant at Better Place (Electrical vehicles Infrastructure and services), assisting the global infrastructure team in the development of Better Place’s EV charging network solution. After business school Joaquin served as Scheduling Director at LAN Airlines in Chile, assisting the commercial planning center of excellence in strategic network planning and business units’ coordination (Chile, Argentina, Perú, Ecuador, Colombia, Brasil). Also, Joaquin led network synergies development for merger between LAN Airlines and TAM Airlines to form the biggest airline in Latin America (LATAM Airlines). During 2013, Joaquin worked at CIEMSA & CSI Ingenieros Group as a consultant to the CEO, focusing on strategic planning, corporate development and business development. Joaquin led strategic initiatives such as re-focusing the group´s operations in Africa, new business development and organizational structuring (Business unit and board of directors). Currently, Joaquin serves as VP of Consulting & Engineering Services at CSI Ingenieros, leading the long term development of the company. Joaquin has a BS in Civil Engineering from Universidad de la Republica, Facultad de Ingenieria, an MBA from UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business and he is originally from Montevideo, Uruguay.
