Learn the Ins and Outs of Product Development

It takes practical skills, strong training and reliable data to design the range of products that will meet your customers’ needs a year or two down the line. At the three-day CBI exporter training course companies will learn the ins and outs of product development. This course is especially suited to companies that are involved in the manufacturing and marketing of consumer products such as home decorations, accessories, gifts and home textiles. In this course, exporters will participate in theoretical and visual presentations, practical group exercises and feedback sessions. They will use guided research and brainstorming in these highly interactive gatherings. There are many aspects to developing products. This training touches on the complete cycle. After completing this training the companies will have strong, practical skills to help them plan future ranges. They will share knowledge and experiences with their business peers and they will be able to:

• Use the CBI manual “Your Guide to Product and Range Development”
• Develop products and new ranges using a step-by-step process
• Understand how design and product development fit into their overall business management process
• Plan and implement strategic product and range development to fit their business marketing strategy

Eligible Sectors:

Firms that produce consumer products such as home decorations, accessories, gifts and home textiles.

Minimum requisites for eligible companies:

Your company is a Small or Medium Enterprise (SME). This company already exports to the European Union or is seriously interested in embarking on it. This course is designed for designers (both in-house and contracted), product and marketing managers and people involved with design and marketing at your SME company. Project or middle managers at BSOs may also apply. All participants must have an excellent command of the English language.
