POLITICOM aims at transforming Haiti by building the capacity of civic and political actors (political parties, women’s groups, youth associations, parliament’s caucuses, and candidates). It meets the crucial need of building the capacity of both tested and emerging leaders by equipping them with indispensable skill sets to participate effectively in civic life and nurture transformational leadership in Haiti. In this new era of political organizing and electoral campaigns, the best ideas and platforms don’t always prevail. Technical capacity and cutting-edge technology become increasingly important to win competitive elections and voice issues to the national and global stage. This path- breaking institution is poised to modernize the political sphere by providing actors with effective tools for issue-based competitions and low-cost campaign techniques that reduce the adverse influence of corruption and dirty tricks in Haiti’s politics. POLITICOM’s expertise spans a wide range of critical areas, such as: • Management of electoral campaigns • Message Development • Technologies & Political Campaigns • Youth, Women & Politics • Leadership Development • Shaping the Winning Candidate • Studies and Research on Governance, Elections, Political Parties, Civil Society, Civic Participation, and Economics. POLITICOM taps into a wide array of experts in Haiti and in the Diaspora. Its strategic objective is to nurture and coach 5,000 emerging leaders over the next 5 years. POLITICOM develops strategic partnerships with local and international organizations such as, civic groups, women associations, and international “think tanks”.
