The Mexican Secretariat of Economy in collaboration with the IDB and ConnectAmericas have the pleasure to present Mexican Foodvenirs, which will take place on July 27-31, 2020.

The objective of Mexican Foodvenirs is to closely connect Mexican exporting companies with buyers from Canada and USA, in the context of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) that entered into force on July 1st. This E-Business Matchmaking event combines virtual business meetings along with specialized training programs delivered by experts from the Mexican Government and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

This is the first in a series of e-Business matchmakings, organized by the Secretariat of Economy and aimed at Mexican exporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as a response to the global pandemic affecting trade and economic development.

Requirements to participate as a buyer

-          To be a legally-registered company from the United States or Canada, buyer of food and beverages products.

-          Hold experience in imports from Latin American or the Caribbean.

-          Have an active web page.

Requirements for participating as a supplier

-          Be a MSME from Mexico, producer or seller of food and beverage products and have a valid RFC.

-          Have exporting experience or a consolidated project to export.

-          Have enough production capacity for exporting.

-         Have an active web page.

-          It’s highly recommendable that at least one of the representatives of the company participating in the event speaks English.

-          It is highly recommendable for the company to have a quality certification for their products such as FDA, HACCP, GSFI, etc.

Despite the global pandemic, Mexican companies are still fully functional and willing to reactivate their sales in foreign markets. In this especial event, they will have the chance to explore opportunities with potential partners to the North and exploit all the tools and benefits that the USMCA has to offer. Beer, spirituous and non-alcoholic beverages, bread and pastry, fresh or dried fruits and berries, chocolate, and confections among many other products compliant with quality certifications, are some of the great products that Mexico has to offer.

If you have a company that meets the above criteria, and you want to access the very best in terms of Mexican food and beverages, register here: bit.ly/foodvenirs
