From Mexican salsa, Costa Rican chocolates, and Peruvian juice to Panamanian window blinds and Brazilian insecticide, exporters from across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) made the most of their participation by signing memoranda of understanding to continue business negotiations with Korean buyers during the V Korea-LAC Business Summit, which took place in Seoul last October.

In its fifth edition, the 2019 Business Summit welcomed 1,058 participants, 42% more than its previous edition, coming from 31 countries, 75% Korean and 25% from across LAC. During the Summit, participating companies from LAC were able to take in the conversations between high-level private sector representatives from both Korea and LAC, where they discussed the lessons learned while working together, and explored the remaining potential areas for collaboration between the two.

However, the greatest opportunities for their businesses lied in their one-on-one meetings with Korean buyers. Each LAC company averaged 6-7 pre-arranged meetings, booked based on their portfolio of products. However, the event offered plenty of networking opportunities which many capitalized to arrange more meetings on-site. Below you will find a selected list of products, and their countries of origin, for which LAC exporters secured ongoing negotiations.

If you're interested in participating in future editions of the Korea-LAC Business Summit, make sure your company profile at ConnectAmericas is up to date to be eligible for the benefits that we offer companies to participate.
