This ensures that no one else uses it and creates a corporate identity that is identified with everything offered by the company. Here are some criteria that should be known when registering the trademark:

Name selection:

Choose between 3 and 5 names that are considered commercially attractive, characterized by being easy to pronounce, reflecting the characteristics of the company, prioritizing the names according to preference. 

Review of availability of name: This can be done at the National Intellectual Property Institute or entities. It may be through the Internet, if possible, or directly at the offices of the institutes. The search is be performed by type of product / service as a product intended market. It should assess the feasibility trademark (that trademarks are sufficiently different from existing ones ). 

Logo and image: The logo design must include the name and characteristics of the company / products. Selecting institutional colors, fonts, etc.. Decision on the use or non-use of slogans.

Registering the trademark:

Fill out the application for trademark registration in accordance with the criteria established by the intellectual property institutes or entities. Submit application and payment to the Institute of Intellectual Property or authority. In some Latin American countries the deadline for responding to the request is about 6 months.
